{"id":36,"date":"2014-01-05T05:00:01","date_gmt":"2014-01-05T05:00:01","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/ethernetsupport.com\/?p=36"},"modified":"2014-01-05T22:41:45","modified_gmt":"2014-01-05T22:41:45","slug":"controllogix-usb-driver","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/ethernetsupport.com\/?p=36","title":{"rendered":"ControlLogix USB Driver"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I&#8217;ve gotten several questions about how to connect to the ControlLogix L7x processors using a USB Cable using RSLinx Classic.<\/p>\n<p>The L7x series processors do not have the standard serial port that the other processors have had in the past&#8230;\u00a0 Instead, you just use a USB Cable (A-Male to B-Male) such as you would find for a standard printer.<\/p>\n<p>1)\u00a0 Verify you have RSLinx Classic 2.57 or higher installed.<\/p>\n<p>2)\u00a0 Connect your cable from your workstation to your processor.<\/p>\n<p>3)\u00a0 If this is the first time you&#8217;ve connected to this type of processor, the windows driver installation wizard will appear.\u00a0 Just choose to install the software automatically.<\/p>\n<p>4)\u00a0 Open RSLinx Classic<\/p>\n<p>5)\u00a0 Under the Communications menu, choose RSWHO.<\/p>\n<p>6)\u00a0 Click the + next to the USB driver, and an icon of your processor will appear to verify that you are connected.<\/p>\n<p><em>Note:\u00a0 You do not need to configure the USB driver within RSLinx!!!!\u00a0 It will appear automatically.<\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I&#8217;ve gotten several questions about how to connect to the ControlLogix L7x processors using a USB Cable using RSLinx Classic.
